My 2009

  • January 2009, I turned 19 and had a little get together with my friends from my former school.
  • February 2009, we celebrated our fiesta. Our entertainment room was already done. It really is great to be watching movies on a flat screen high definition tv.
  • March 2009, my sister went home. She had a month long vacation. We went to Boracay for the first time. And because of that trip, now I’m not allowed to ride an airplane anymore. =(
  • April 2009, our city hosted the Palarong Pambansa for the first time. There were too many tourist during that time. And the streets were covered with streamers, greetings from different politicians.
  • May 2009, I decided to transfer to another school. Okay, some of my friends are complaining because every year I transfer schools. Well, I have my reasons why I need to transfer.
  • June 2009, new school, new friends, new teachers, new uniform. I haven’t been wearing uniform for 2 years already. My sister went home on the 26th for her birthday which was on the 27th and we had a weekend getaway.
  • July 2009, I almost stopped schooling because of A(H1N1). I had to convince my mom to let me go back to school. I understand why she wanted me to stop, it was way to dangerous for my condition but I don’t want to rot in our house.
  • August 2009, my mom and I, together with a cousin and a driver, went to Manila by land using our car for my check-up (most heartbreaking check-up of my life). It took 18 hours for us to get to Manila. But it was cool to get to see Mayon Volcano up close for the first time. Then we also went to Subic. It was my first time to go there and I promised myself that I would bo gack to see the dolphins and tigers again.
  • September 2009, after being absent from school for almost a month, I was expecting my teachers wouldn’t let me attend classes anymore. Good thing I was still able to catch up with the lessons. Thanks to my teachers and classmates who helped me.
  • October 2009, my dad promised to buy me the camera I wanted. I didn’t know why he finally gave in. I’m guessing it’s because of the depressing check-up I had in August.
  • November 2009, I finally got a chance to go to Astrodome. Then I finally got to meet the members of LeySamFoto Photography Club during the 2-day seminar of Mr. Ibarra Deri and his daughter, Miss Dail Deri.
  • December 2009, I started attending LeySamFoto “meetings” without telling my parents because they wouldn’t allow me, especially my mom because she’s kinda worried that there are more boys than girls in our club. I didn’t get to attend the club’s Christmas party because my high school classmates planned a mini get together on the same night.

Lightbox

I tried the lightbox project tutorial that I’ve read in our club’s forum. Well, if you saw the pictures of the other members in our club, you can really say that this picture sucks. Their pictures are way much better than mine.

Still On a Hiatus

I’m online everyday but I can’t blog that much because I’m using my dad’s laptop. My computer is still dead. I can’t use it because the monitor is acting up. I miss blogging already. I want to post some photos but I will be needing a photoshop to resize and put a watermark on my photos. My dad’s laptop doesn’t have Photoshop installed. I’m also thinking of moving to Tumblr. It’s easier to blog there. But I’m not yet sure because I will surely miss some features of Wordpress.

Typhoon Ondoy

I know most of you are aware of what happened in the Philippines, particularly in Metro Manila. Typhoon Ondoy (International Name: Typhoon Ketsana) brought non-stop heavy rain which caused floods. There are a lot of houses and cars submerged. Even celebrities became a victim of the floods. The government declared a state of calamity in Manila. People are in dire need of food, medicines, clothes and the like. Many are now homeless.

0:42 Kinda like Titanic.

Ondoy Tumblr Site: http://ondoy.tumblr.com Contains picture and videos.

I’m so thankful that my sister and brother are safe. Thank God.

Manila & Subic

I went to Manila for my annual check-up. We left Tacloban at six in the morning. We arrived at 2:30 AM the next day. We used our car that’s why it took us around 18 hours before we reached our destination. But if we took the plane, it would only take less than an hour to get to Manila. The problem is I’m not allowed to ride a plane anymore. After the check-up and a few days of staying there, we decided to go to Subic and visit my uncle.

I love Subic. I really enjoyed my stay there. Traffic’s not heavy, less pollution, everything was in order and the rules are strictly implemented, no excuses. It felt like I was in the US.

We went to Ocean Adventure. I’ve always wanted to go there ever since I saw it featured on some TV shows. And I wanted to see a dolphin in person. We were kinda lucky because Kablog, a TV show being aired here in the Philippines, was having their shoot featuring the dolphins of Ocean Adventure.

Next day, we went to Zoobic Safari. I really enjoyed every single minute that I was there. Well, except when we were with one group of family who were noisy. It’s a good thing that they decided to eat lunch first before continuing to the second part of the tour. While me and my mom, together with a group of 3 tourist, decided to go on without them. We went to building where the tigers are being kept. The place was so stinky. They feed every tiger 7-10 kilos of meat every single day. Then we went to the Tiger Safari where you will ride a jeep and if you buy a chicken, the tigers will chase or attack the jeep to get the chicken. We didn’t buy a chicken, we were to scared.

I don’t care if I was absent from school for 2 weeks because my Subic trip was so awesome!
