I went to Manila for my annual check-up. We left Tacloban at six in the morning. We arrived at 2:30 AM the next day. We used our car that’s why it took us around 18 hours before we reached our destination. But if we took the plane, it would only take less than an hour to get to Manila. The problem is I’m not allowed to ride a plane anymore. After the check-up and a few days of staying there, we decided to go to Subic and visit my uncle.
I love Subic. I really enjoyed my stay there. Traffic’s not heavy, less pollution, everything was in order and the rules are strictly implemented, no excuses. It felt like I was in the US.
We went to Ocean Adventure. I’ve always wanted to go there ever since I saw it featured on some TV shows. And I wanted to see a dolphin in person. We were kinda lucky because Kablog, a TV show being aired here in the Philippines, was having their shoot featuring the dolphins of Ocean Adventure.
Next day, we went to Zoobic Safari. I really enjoyed every single minute that I was there. Well, except when we were with one group of family who were noisy. It’s a good thing that they decided to eat lunch first before continuing to the second part of the tour. While me and my mom, together with a group of 3 tourist, decided to go on without them. We went to building where the tigers are being kept. The place was so stinky. They feed every tiger 7-10 kilos of meat every single day. Then we went to the Tiger Safari where you will ride a jeep and if you buy a chicken, the tigers will chase or attack the jeep to get the chicken. We didn’t buy a chicken, we were to scared.
I don’t care if I was absent from school for 2 weeks because my Subic trip was so awesome!
Note: This will be a random post so expect a lot of grammar mistakes.
My sister arrived from Manila last Friday to spend her birthday with us. She brought a friend with her. As I was waiting for them at the airport’s parking lot, I was so excited because we had a lot of things planned for the weekend until the day they would go back to Manila. We had a small party the night they arrived. We spent the night karaoke singing and eating. We also watched “27 Dresses”. I like it but it’s kinda like a rip-off of Rico and Claudine’s movie. But the lead actress is so beautiful.
On Saturday, the day of her birthday, we went to Ormoc to spend an overnight at Sabin hotel. We were supposed to have night swimming but we decided to swim the next morning. I spent the night camwhoring using the cam’s self-timer. There were a lot of running that happened that night. LOL. We started swimming at eight in the morning. I really had fun at the “walking” pool. I call it “walking pool” because I don’t know how to swim, I just walk. After eating breakfast and checking out at the hotel, we went straight to Rafael’s farm which is just a few minutes drive from Tacloban City. We had lunch there. I was really happy because I love that place. And I got to practice taking good pictures. How I wish I had a DSLR but dad’s digicam was already okay. After eating and picture-taking, we were about to leave when I saw my high school batchmate and former college classmate, Jim, with his family.
We also went to San Juanico Bridge. I felt like it was my first time to be there. I’ve been at San Juanico Bridge a couple of times before but I never had my picture taken there. I kinda felt like I was a tourist in our own province.
Yesterday, we didn’t have any classes because of the Sangyaw Festival. We went to Robinson’s to watch Transformers 2 Movie. I was really impressed with the movie. I forgot to bring a jacket. It was really cold inside the movie theater. Note to self: Bring a jacket when going out to watch movies. After watching Transformers 2, we bought some snacks at the supermarket, went home and watched Twilight (again) and Wanted.
My sister and her friend already went back to Manila early this morning. I already miss hanging out with them. Back to the normal boring life.
Now that classes are over, I can blog anytime I want. Yipee! Okay so I’ve been gone for ages. I’ve had some personal problems, it kinda involved a lot of boys. Enough about that. I’m glad that everything’s fine now. I really missed blogging so much. One of the reasons why I haven’t been able to post a decent update is that I didn’t feel articulate during those times. And besides, I got a lot going on offline. My sister went on a month-long leave so I kinda spent more time bonding with her before she goes back to Manila. School was eating up my time. But I went on a short break.
I went to Boracay (March 12-14) with my parents and my sister, together with some of my dad’s colleagues and their families. We were almost late for our Tacloban-Manila flight. We arrived at NAIA Terminal 2 so we had to board the airport’s bus that would take us to NAIA Terminal 3 for our Manila-Caticlan flight. The flight to Caticlan gave me a little fright and the plane’s propeller was too noisy. We stayed at the Boracay Holiday Resort. It’s a few meters away from the beach. I almost lost my baggage at the hotel. After checking in at our hotel, we decided to take a stroll at the beachfront before the Fellowship Night begins. We had to wear some Hawaiian inspired clothes. After dinner, my sister and my friend, Rhica, went to D’Mall. I spent P200 on 14 keychains. We had our picture taken with a white guy and a violet guy (take a look at the pictures and you’ll know what I mean). I wanted to get a tattoo (the henna one, not the permanent one) but I didn’t get the chance to do so. Oh, BTW, I don’t normally wear shorts in public, but hey, it’s Bora. Nobody cares.
My first night at the hotel was kinda okay. You see, staying at a hotel gives me the creeps. (Okay, I should stop reading ghost stories.) Whenever I use the bathroom, I would check to see that no one or nothing is standing behind the shower curtains while I’m doing my thing. LOL. I’m such a scaredy cat.
The next day was kinda exhausting. From our hotel, we walked all the way to the grotto. A couple was nice enough to take our picture. The heat was killing me, I didn’t want to walk all the way back to our hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, I was sweating like a pig. My mom told us that we should have taken the tricycle on our way back to the hotel. She should have told us earlier.
I got braids on our second night there. I was reluctant since we were about to leave the next day. If by any chance you saw a girl with braided hair walking around at Robinson’s Manila on the 14th, that was me. LOL. Oh and if the lady at the airport’s bus (who took pictures of me without asking permission) is reading this, can I get a copy?! LOL.
On our flight back home, I kinda experienced losing my breath during take-off, air turbulence and landing. I had an oxygen mask on for the entire flight. The flight attendant was very kind and she kept on checking on me from time to time.
I really did enjoy my short break from school, well except for the oxygen incident. I don’t care if I missed a lot of lessons. It was worth it.
P.S. Don’t steal my pics or the slideshow. I’m gonna kill you if you do. LOL. Oh and I would like to thank everyone who dropped by even when I was on a hiatus.
A lot of people in our city believe that if you go to this church in Sulangan, Guiuan, Samar and attend the mass, your prayers will be granted. And once granted, you must go back and offer a thanksgiving mass. We went there last Sunday since there are a lot of things that we should be thankful for. We left as early as 6:00 in the morning to be able to attend the 9:00 mass. It’s a 3 hour land trip from Tacloban City. Because of the rush, I forgot to eat breakfast. And because of that, I barfed on the way to Sulangan. The mass started at 9:00 and ended at 11:00. There are a lot of people who offer thanksgiving mass and it takes 30 minutes to read the list of those who offered. Before we went home, we decided to drop by at Caluayan Beach Resort to eat snacks. The last time I was there, the pool area was full of Chinese hunks. This time, it’s full of girls in skimpy bikinis. I was not one of them, just so you know.
Sembreak is over. My brother is now in Manila because he still have to register for the oath taking. Classes were supposed to start last Monday but every time I would go to school, no classes were held that’s because most of the students haven’t enrolled yet. I don’t regret coming to school even without classes. At least I got to see my crush. I love his new haircut. hehe. I only have 5 subjects as of now, 16 units. I’m planning to add one subject, CSCI16 Data Communications and Networking, Monday to Friday 1:00-2:00, 3 units. So that would be a total of 19 units. My friend, Percy, was forced to shift courses because she’s the only IM student left. The school couldn’t find a teacher for some of her subjects. I hope that next week, there would be regular classes already. Here’s my current schedule for this semester. I maybe online during vacants.

I’m going to be in Manila from May 20-26. Dad bought three tickets for him, mom and of course, yours truly. hehe. The original plan was my dad would accompany me to Manila to visit my sister and brother and spend summer there. He would just bring me there and go back. But the plan changed and the three of us are going. Dad would leave to attend his DELP meeting (something like that) in Baguio on May 23 and 24. I’m so excited to see my sister, who is working at Philippine General Hospital, and my brother, who is reviewing for the upcoming board exams on October.
